Tae Hyun Hwang, PhD holds the endowed chair position with the designation of Florida Department of Health Cancer Chair to build a nationally recognized program in Artificial Intelligence in Cancer at Mayo Clinic Florida.

Our group is developing novel machine learning and artificial intelligence (e.g., deep learning) algorithms to ultimately help patients with lethal diseases. We utilize large-scale genomic, single cell DNA/RNA sequencing, spatial transcriptome/proteomics, image and clinical data including electronic health records (EHR) to discover biomarker and develop predictive models that can be used clinically to develop novel therapeutics as well as guide better therapy decisions. We are hybrid-lab doing both computational and experimental research while our main research focuses are developing a novel algorithm and its applications in immuno/cellular-oncology, precision oncology, and personalized patient care where we have unique expertise and experiences.
