Thematically Fiona’s work contributes to smart, sustainable and inclusive economic growth strategies. She has a particular interest in the role of convergent/exponential technologies in helping solve the global economic, social and environmental challenges, and building the pipeline of mobile talents with the right mix of skills and mindsets to help create solutions to these challenges. She has an extensive track record working on these themes with peak organisations around the world, including the European Commission, the European Institute of Innovation & Technology, the Rathenau Instituut and the Japanese Business University Forum.
In her previous work on funding models and peer review practices fit for the 21st Century she has advised international and national research funding councils and Academies as well as Cabinet level departments in the US and Canada and contributed to work by the British Medical Association on this theme with Professor Sir Simon Wessely.
Fiona is also co-author of the popular publication Überpreneurs: How to Create Innovative Global Businesses and Transform Human Societies and has taught in universities in Australia, Hong Kong and Vietnam.
